Elizabeth Nauman, B.A. Psy.


Elizabeth Nauman is a counseling intern at The Center for Cognitive Therapy and Assessment (CCTA) in Falls Church and Alexandria, Virginia.

Elizabeth earned her Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and is currently a third-year Master's student in The George Washington University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. She completed her practicum training at GWU’s Community Counseling Services Center. In addition to her clinical training, Elizabeth worked at CCTA as the administrative assistant and intake coordinator for 2 years. She brings a deep understanding of how the practice operates to her current role as a clinical intern.

Elizabeth uses psychodynamic and family systems frameworks to help clients reach a deeper understanding of themselves and their role within their systems. She is also learning to integrate CBT skills to better problem-solve life specific challenges. Elizabeth has worked with clients with a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, and family conflicts as well as individuals with trauma histories and relationship concerns. She believes a supportive but challenging environment is key to empowering her clients to learn more about themselves, their relationships, and their histories.
